In the fever pitch of the #MeToo movement, I am moved by the courage of women of all ages to have the confidence to come forward about the heinous behaviors of others. I am treading lightly here and have no intent to use this as a political platform, be self-righteous or invoke any ill-will.

Respect word cloud on a white background.

There is Nothing Nice About Being Mean

Nobody should feel excluded, unappreciated, violated or otherwise inferior.  Ageism plays a role in being ignored, passed over,  or not taken seriously. And, in no way am I comparing midlife to the sexual misconduct, harassment and atrocious behaviors.  I believe we can find the opportunity here is to follow the example of these brave women who made the decision to speak and and be heard.

We Deserve The Best

I want to thank the #MeToo founders and all members for forging ahead and giving us the green light to set boundaries and bring attention to the horrific behaviors of others. Nobody wants to feel bad-ever.

The Fiercely50ish community is a proud one. We celebrate our arrival to this time in our lives and are giddy with the many possibilities of where we are going. I, for one, am just getting started, and I believe that many of you are on the same path.

At your age” is not relevant in our world. Remember, we are REINVENTING. MIDLIFE.

If you feel that someone’s behavior isn’t acceptable,  you have full permission to let them know. You are capable, confident and deserving of the best.

The power of change resides in us, and nobody else. Yes, we have our Board of Trust-EASE and they support, encourage and challenge us. It is up to each of us to decide to speak up if something isn’t right.

If you struggle with sharing how you feel, I encourage you to write it down. Create a letter, an email or a text.  Just please, please be heard. If others are unaware of how we feel, how can change happen?

As your confidence creator, I am here to encourage you to share your viewpoints, ideas, and solutions. We are a group of go-getters, doers, and kick-ass women who are changing the world, one word at a time.

Join me in thanking #MeToo for letting us speak and be heard.

#Fiercely50ish!
